Approval of San Francisco Estuary and Watershed Science Contract (Action Item) The Executive Officer is requesting the Council enter into a new two-year contract to provide $664,871 of Science Program General Fund funds to continue publication of the San Francisco Estuary and Watershed Science online journal in FYs 2016/17 and 2017/18 and to make additional amendments as necessary. Report from the Delta Watermaster about the Voluntary Diversion Reduction Program among in-Delta Riparian Water Right Claimants (Information Item) Delta Watermaster Michael George will discuss the origin and implementation of a voluntary program to significantly reduce in-Delta agricultural water diversions during the 2015 summer growing season. Proposed Delta Plan Amendment to Address Water Conveyance, Storage Systems, and the Operation of Both to Achieve the Coequal Goals (Action Item) Staff will present options and recommendations and receive guidance regarding the scope and process for a proposed Delta Plan amendment to address water conveyance, storage, and the operation of both to achieve the coequal goals. Staff will recommend that the Council direct staff to develop a proposed Delta Plan amendment that may include new recommendations and/or regulatory policies and performance measures based on the 19 Principles for Water Conveyance in the Delta, Storage Systems, and for the Operation of Both to Achieve the Coequal Goals adopted by the Council in November 2015. Delta Levees Investment Strategy Update and Contract Amendment (Action Item)
Staff will request that the Council authorize the Executive Officer to increase the contract amount between the Delta Stewardship Council and Arcadis for work related to developing priorities for State investments in Delta levees by $1,845,902.
