|Monday, Nov 14, 2016, 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.|
|1.|| Welcome and Introductions|
|2.|| The Science Enterprise Workshop: Supporting and Implementing Collaborative Science|
Workshop co-hosts, Jessica Law, Delta Stewardship Council (Council), and Mike Chotkowski, US Geological Survey, will provide a report on the proceedings and outcomes from the event, held November 1-2, 2016, at UC Davis. DPIIC committee members and presenters will discuss a proposed set of recommendations resulting from the workshop to improve management, funding, and communication of science in the Delta, and to further achieve the vision of One Delta, One Science.
|3.|| Linking Best-Available Science and Decision Making|
DPIIC committee members will hear presentations reflecting current scientific knowledge of the Bay-Delta ecosystem as captured in two new reports: State of Bay Delta Science 2016 (SBDS) and Delta Renewed: A Guide to Science-Based Ecological Restoration in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (Delta Renewed). DPIIC committee members and presenters from the SBDS editorial board, San Francisco Estuary Institute, and agency sponsors will discuss what we have learned about the Delta ecosystem since 2008, and what is needed to support the long-term vision of restoration.
|4.|| Ecosystem Restoration Progress Update|
Carl Wilcox, California Department of Fish & Wildlife (DFW), will provide a brief overview of how DFW is working with the Delta community to develop a Delta Conservation Framework and how this work connects with other planning and implementation efforts in the Delta. DPIIC committee members will also hear a presentation from David Okita and Kris Tjernell, California Natural Resources Agency, on the status of California EcoRestore progress, and consider a proposed process for interagency review of permitting best practices.
- Next Delta Plan Interagency Implementation Committee Meeting: Monday, April 17, 2017, 1-5 pm, at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento Hotel, 1230 J Street, Sacramento, CA.
