Purpose:

The Delta Independent Science Board (Delta ISB) will discuss the status of current reviews and will consider finalizing the summary sheet for its habitat restoration review. Outside of the usual business matters, the Delta ISB will moderate a panel discussion with monitoring programs that collect data at a national or regional scale that includes the Bay-Delta to help inform the review on the Delta Monitoring Enterprise.

This panel discussion will include representatives from

1)the Institute for Bird Populations’ Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship (MAPS) Program,

2)the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA’s) San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR),

3)the National Weather Service’s (NWS’s) California-Nevada River Forecast Center,

4)the United States Environmental Protection Agency’s (USEPA’s) National Wetland Condition Assessment (NWCA), and

5)the United States Geological Survey’s (USGS’s) National Water-Quality Assessment (NAWQA) Project.

"Coequal goals" means the two goals of providing a more reliable water supply for California and protecting, restoring, and enhancing the Delta ecosystem. The coequal goals shall be achieved in a manner that protects and enhances the unique cultural, recreational, natural resource, and agricultural values of the Delta as an evolving place.

In addition, comments during the Public Comment period shall be limited to matters within the Delta ISBs jurisdiction and not on the agenda.
