3. Public Workshop: Improving the Local Coastal Planning Process. Local Government Officials and Coastal Commissioners will discuss Improving the Local Coastal Planning Process. The workshop will be a moderated, public discussion and exchange of ideas about continuing to improve communication and make the LCP process more effective, predictable and efficient for all stakeholders. Public Comments will be included in the workshop. Agenda and background material for the workshop will be available on the Commission’s website. (CL/LF-SF)

The Public Workshop will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The agenda will will resume with item 4 following the lunch break, at approximately 1:30 p.m.

Dr. Gary Griggs, Director, Institute of Marine Sciences at University of California, Santa Cruz and NRC Scientific Committee Member will be presenting: Findings and California Highlights of the National Research Council’s Report Sea-Level Rise for the Coasts of California, Oregon, and Washington: Past, Present, and Future.

Concurrence with Executive Director’s determination that the request by City of Encinitas to amend Section 30.54.040 of the certified Municipal Code to make the City Council, rather than the Planning Commission, the decision-making body to adopt and revise the Off-street Parking Design Manual and incorporate the manual by reference into the Code is de minimis.
