Commission accepted its Hearing Officerís proposed decision on the following license and permit items from the Commissionís March 2, 2006 , Executive Session:

  1. GERALDINE GRILLO, DENIED, TRANSFERABLE MARKET SQUID VESSEL PERMIT.

REQUEST OF MIKE MCCORKLE, SANTA BARBARA, FOR AN EXPERIMENTAL GEAR PERMIT TO CONDUCT RESEARCH ON A SPOT PRAWN TRAWL BYCATCH EXCLUDER IN SELECTED AREAS IN THE SANTA BARBARA CHANNEL. (Note: This item was continued by the Commission from its February 2, 2006 meeting.)

Request withdrawn by Mr. McCorkle.

Received Departmentís presentation; received public testimony. Commission referred item to its Marine Resources Committee.

COMMISSION CONSIDERATION AND POSSIBLE ADOPTION OF EMERGENCY ACTION TO ADD SECTION 177, TITLE 14, CCR, TO ESTABLISH PERMITS FOR THE COMMERCIAL HALIBUT TRAWL FISHERY.

Received Departmentís recommendation; received public testimony. Commission supported the Departmentís proposal to issue the permits under the Departmentís authority without emergency regulatory action by the Commission.
