GHG reduction strategies will spur a host of technology-based solutions that will change our lives, but how will those at the bottom of the social and economic ladder fare in this new era?  How will the economic and social transformation associated with “going green” take place in a way that addresses affordable housing and other social inequities?  This panel will kick-off a coordinated effort among non-profits, foundations, and local gov ernment to think about a future where GHG reductions strategies benefit the entire population.

In 2006, the Governor’s Strategic Growth Plan was predicated on reducing congestion and California voters passed the Infrastructure Bond package.  Implementation of the Bonds is underway in Sacramento and requires unprecedented level of coordination among state agencies.  This panel will explore some of the main drivers of GHG emissions reduction within the context of the Governor’s Strategic Growth Plan.
