The Board will consider updates to the “Funding Guidelines for Agencies Administering California Climate Investments.” These Guidelines apply to all projects funded by the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund (i.e., Cap-and-Trade auction proceeds). The proposed updates reflect statutory changes and include new or revised guidance for: program administration; quantification of greenhouse gas reductions and co-benefits; project tracking and reporting; maximizing benefits for disadvantaged communities; and guidance for targeting investments to disadvantaged communities, low-income communities, and low-income households. The Board will hear how satellite remote sensing data can estimate air quality levels. Staff will also present results from in-house and collaborative satellite studies that can be used to support air quality decision-making.
Assembly Bill 197 established six-year terms for the 14 voting members of the Board with the exception of "initial staggered terms," which the statute directed the Board to establish.
