Application No. 1-16-0238 (Humboldt County Department of Public Works (DPW) Exhibits
Application of Humboldt County DPW to disallow parking in 2 public
parking areas at Mad River Beach County Park from one hour after sunset
to sunrise daily and install manually operated gates, boulders,
signage, and speed tables on park access road to control vehicular
access to parking lots during proposed closure hours, at Mad River
Beach County Park, off of Mad River Rd., approx. 3.5 miles northwest of
Arcata, Humboldt County. (MBK-A) Motion and Vote
Application No.1-16-1110/CC-0003-17 (City of Eureka Martin Slough Restoration) ExhibitsAddenda
Application of City of Eureka to restore and enhance approx. 8000 feet
of Martin Slough, its tributaries and associated riparian and wetland
habitat including (1) enlarging the Martin Slough channel to allow for
greater tidal exchange, (2) replacing several small culverts and old
bridges to increase channel capacity and improve habitat, (3) creating
several new tidal ponds to provide critical habitat for coho salmon,
(4) restoring portions of the adjacent floodplain and riparian areas,
and (5) repairing portions of the earthen berm along Swain Slough off
of Fairway Drive in Eureka, Humboldt County. (KH-SF)
County of Del Norte LCP Amendment No. LCP-1-DNC-17-0019-1 (Tedsen Land Rezone) Time Extension Public hearing and
action to extend the time limit for action for one year on County of
Del Norte request to amend certified Implementation Plan to rezone a
1.25-acre forested parcel from RCA-1 (General Resource Conservation
Area) and RRA-1 (Rural Residential Agriculture, 1 acre minimum lot
size) to RCA-2(w) (Designated Resource Conservation Area – wetland),
RCA-2(wb) (Designated Resource Conservation Area – wetland buffer), and
RRA-1at 600 Tedsen Lane, east of Lake Earl. (CK-A) Motion and Vote Motion and Vote
If
time permits, the Commission will take a field trip starting at the
conclusion of the meeting on Thursday June 8, to Trinidad and then
points south to and including along the Samoa Peninsula . The field
trip will start from Parking Lot G-11 at the northwest corner of the
intersection of Harpst St. and Rossow St. on the Humboldt State
University campus. Several stops will be made. Members of the public
are invited to attend by following in their private vehicles and
joining the Commission at designated stops. A detailed itinerary will
be posted on the Commission’s web site. For more information, please

Reception
At the conclusion of the Commission field trip on Thursday, June 8, or
at 6 pm., whichever is later, the Commission will attend a reception
hosted by the County of Humboldt at Shamus T Bones Restaurant, at 1911
Truesdale St. in Eureka. Members of the public are welcome to join the
Commission; however, because space is limited, those wishing to attend
must make a reservation by contacting Kathy Hayes at the Humboldt
County Board of Supervisors Office at (707) 476-2396.
