The Delta ISB will meet regarding its current reviews and efforts. This includes a discussion on any public comments received on the Delta ISB’s latest draft report: “The Science of Non-native Species in a Dynamic Delta,” which was prepared as part of the Delta ISB’s responsibility to provide scientific oversight of programs that support adaptive management of the Delta. Based on the discussion, the Delta ISB may take action on next steps to address any public comments received to date on the draft report. In addition, the California Department of Water Resources (DWR) will provide an update and overview of the Delta Conveyance Project and the Delta ISB will discuss a potential Delta ISB review of the draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the project. This item will include perspectives from the Delta Protection Commission on Delta as Place considerations in producing an EIR for the Delta Conveyance Project that is based on the best available science.
This will be the last meeting of Dr. Liz Canuel, Dr. Tracy Collier, Dr. Dick Norgaard, Dr. Vince Resh, and Dr. John Wiens, whose terms on the Delta ISB end on August 31, 2020. Dr. John Callaway, whose term as Delta lead scientist ended on July 31, 2020, will also attend. At the meeting, the outgoing Delta ISB members and Dr. Callaway will share reflections on their respective terms and their experiences working in the Delta system. Incoming Delta ISB members, whose terms will start on September 1, 2020, have been invited to the meeting and will be introduced.

| || ||On April 17, 2020, the Delta ISB submitted a comment letter to DWR on the Notice of Preparation for the Delta Conveyance Project. In the letter, the Delta ISB invited DWR to attend a future Delta ISB meeting to discuss: (1) the process and timeline for a Delta ISB review of the draft EIR for the Delta Conveyance Project; and (2) Delta ISB insights and expectations based on its previous review of EIR documents for the Bay Delta Conservation Plan and California WaterFix. In response to the comment letter, Carrie Buckman of DWR will provide an update on the Delta Conveyance Project and discuss a potential Delta ISB review.|
