|2.|| Implementing “One Delta, One Science”: Progress on High-Impact Science Actions and Development of a shared Science Action Agenda|
Dr. Cliff Dahm, Delta Lead Scientist, and staff will report on progress toward implementing the DPIIC’s endorsed list of High-Impact Science Actions. A presentation on the development of a shared Science Action Agenda will address a committee request regarding how priorities are aligned across current collaborative science efforts.
|3.|| Delta Independent Science Board: Improving Adaptive Management in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta|
Dr. John Wiens, Delta Independent Science Board (ISB), will present a recent ISB report on how adaptive management is perceived and used in the Delta and how it might be applied more efficiently and effectively. He will discuss impediments to adaptive management and recommendations for incorporating adaptive approaches to improve management of the Delta and its resources.
|4.|| California EcoRestore: Making Restoration Happen|
David Okita and Kristopher Tjernell, California Natural Resources Agency, will provide an overview of the Administration’s efforts to advance restoration of 30,000 acres of Delta habitat. This will include highlighting progress on the collaborative Yolo Bypass and Cache Slough Partnership and an update on efforts to develop an adaptive management program for EcoRestore.
|5.|| Committee Business|
- Chair Fiorini and Mike Chotkowski, U.S. Geological Survey, will discuss the proposal for a “Nationally-Recognized Science Enterprise Workshop,” co-chaired by the Council’s Delta Science Program and the USGS, to be held later this year. This workshop will bring together scientists and science policy experts from across the country to share information and lessons learned from other high-profile and complex ecosystem research programs to discuss approaches to funding and implementing collaborative science in the Delta.
