NOTICE OF A MEETING OF THE
SANTA MONICA BAY RESTORATION COMMISSION
EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
Date: July 21, 2022
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Location: Remote Meeting Only (No Physical Meeting Location)
As authorized by Government Code section 11133, this meeting will occur solely via remote presence.

For those who only wish to watch or listen to the meeting the webcast is available at https://cal-span.org/static/index.php (closed captioning available) and can be used UNLESS you intend to comment.

AGENDA
1) Comments from Members of the Public on Items Not on the Agenda and Public Testimony on All Agenda Items
All public comment on items not on the agenda, informational items on the agenda, or public testimony on any action item will generally be limited to a combined total of no more than four (4) minutes per person. Public testimony regarding action items on the agenda will be considered subsequent to any staff report, briefing, or presentation and the time allocated to public testimony is subject to the discretion of the Chair. Those who wish to provide public comment are encouraged to use the registration form linked above or you may e-mail your request(s) to [email protected] by 5:00 p.m. the day prior to the meeting. If you do not request to comment the day before the meeting, you can still address the Commission provided you are in the meeting before the Commission ends that item. However, you will be heard after all other speakers. If you cannot attend the meeting, written comments submitted via e-mail may be read by staff, upon request, subject to the time limit of four (4) minutes per person. For additional information on providing public comment, please see the Public Participation Guidance document.

  d) Establish the August 18, 2022 Governing Board Meeting Agenda. Consider the following agenda items:
    i) Consideration of Adoption of the Resolution regarding Recommendations for the Safe Clean Water Program Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Stormwater Investment Plans within the Santa Monica Bay Watershed
    ii) Consideration of Approval of Santa Monica Bay National Estuary Program Work Plan for Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Funds
    iii) Presentation on the State Coastal Conservancy’s 2023-2027 Strategic Plan Development – State Coastal Conservancy
    iv) Presentation from New Technical Advisory Committee Member Dr. Alvina Mehinto – Southern California Coastal Water Research Project
    v) Presentation on Microplastics Health Effects and Management Strategies – Southern California Coastal Water Research Project
  e) Closed Session. As authorized by Government Code section 11126, the Executive Committee of the Santa Monica Bay Restoration Commission may meet in closed session. Closed session items are not open to the public. Items the Executive Committee may discuss include consultation with counsel about:
    i) A matter which, based on existing facts and circumstances, presents significant exposure to litigation against the Commission (Gov. Code, § 11126, subd. (e)(2)(B));
    ii) A matter which, based on existing facts and circumstances, the Commission is deciding whether to initiate litigation (Gov. Code, § 11126, subd. (e)(2)(C)); or
    iii) Consideration of the appointment, employment, or evaluation of performance about a public employee. (Gov. Code, § 11126, subd. (a)).
