4. PUBLIC COMMENT Items not on the agenda
The IWMA Board welcomes your input. All persons desiring to speak during any public comment may do so in the following ways:
  • Community members are encouraged to submit agenda correspondence in advance of the meeting via email to the Clerk of the Board at cprice@iwma.com. Correspondence will be published on the IWMA website with a final update at 9:00 am on the day of the meeting. Agenda correspondence received after 9:00 am may not be posted until after the meeting.

  • During the meeting, members of the public may provide public comment through Zoom using the information above.

  • AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COMPLIANCE -- In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the IWMA is committed to including the disabled in all of its services, programs, and activities.     IWMA BOARD CONSENT AGENDA – REVIEW AND APPROVE

      The following items were approved for placement on the August 12, 2020, IWMA Board Meeting Consent Agenda by the IWMA Executive Committee on August 5, 2020.
      These items are scheduled for consideration as a group. The recommendation for each item is noted in the description. After public comment, any member of the IWMA Board or the Executive Director may request an item be withdrawn from the Consent Agenda to allow discussion.

    7. DRAFT MINUTES OF THE JUNE 18, 2020, IWMA BOARD MEETING

    Recommendation: Approve draft minutes of the June 18, 2020, IWMA Board Meeting.
    8. APPROVED MINUTES OF THE JUNE 8, 2020, IWMA SPECIAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE MEETING

    Recommendation: Receive and file approved minutes of the June 8, 2020, IWMA Special Executive Committee Meeting.
    9. OUTREACH CONSULTING SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH THE ENVIRONMENTAL CENTER OF SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY (ECOSLO)

    Recommendation: : Staff recommends the Board approve the San Luis Obispo County Integrated Waste Management Authority Agreement for Consulting Services with ECOSLO for one (1) year with the potential for an additional four (4), one (1) year extensions, and give the IWMA Board President the authority to sign the one (1) year agreement for consulting services. Yearly impact: $34,000.
    10. SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGEMENT AGREEMENT WITH ANDREA BINISKIEWICZ

    Recommendation: Staff recommends the Board approve the San Luis Obispo County Integrated Waste Management Authority Agreement for Consulting Services with Andrea Biniskiewicz and give the IWMA Board President the authority to sign the three (3) year agreement. Yearly impact: Year 1 - $24,960; Year 2 - $26,880; Year 3 - $28,800
    11. MORRO BAY HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE LEASE AGREEMENT EXTENSION

    Recommendation: Staff recommends the Board approve the lease extension and give the IWMA Board President the authority to sign the one (1) year lease agreement. Yearly impact $1.00.
    IWMA BOARD REGULAR AGENDA – IWMA BUSINESS ITEMS
      The following item was approved for placement on the August 12, 2020, IWMA Board Meeting Regular Agenda by the IWMA Executive Committee on August 5, 2020.

    13. MISSION, VALUES, VISION-STRATEGIC PLANNING WORKSHOP

    Recommendation: Receive a presentation from HF&H Consultants, Inc. summarizing the results of the Mission, Values, and Vision development that the Board participated in at the July 8th Strategic Planning Workshop; approve Mission, Values, and Vision statements, and, direct staff to develop a Strategic Plan based on the adopted statements and objectives presented.
    14. EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE ELECTIONS

    Recommendation: Staff recommends the IWMA Board conduct the Executive Committee Election at the August 12, 2020, meeting or postpone until a specified future meeting.
    15. MEMBER COMMENTS AND FUTURE AGENDA ITEMS

    Recommendation: Discussion by IWMA Board.
    ADJOURNMENT
      The next regularly scheduled IWMA Board Meeting is Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 1:30 PM. It is unknown at this time if the meeting will be in person or via Tele Conference and/or Video Conference
